Education

I obtained my Italian Diploma di Maturita' at Liceo Scientifico Wiligelmo, in Modena, Italy. I also received my Master of Science in chemistry with molecular physics at the Imperial College London with first-class honours. And I have my Master of Research in bioimaging sciences at Imperial College London with distinction. I am presently studying for my Ph.D. in medical imaging at the Australian Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnologies at the University of Queensland.

Experience

I have been an academic tutor for five years; I have also worked both as a private tutor and for two tutoring agencies in the UK. I have tutored chemistry, mathematics, physics, and Italian to IB and high school students. I like being a tutor because it gives me the opportunity to pass my passion for science on to younger students. I think that having a rigorous method of study is one of the key skills students must have in order to obtain good grades. It is not always easy for high school and university students to figure out what is the best study method by themselves. That is why having a more experienced person they can learn from and ask for help is really important at this stage in their academic career. Having been a pupil myself, and having had to face the challenge of adjusting to different educational systems has made me aware of the difficulties students face. Apart from English, I am a native speaker of Italian. I can also speak colloquial French and basic Spanish.
