I have a bachelor of law that I earned with honors. I also earned a bachelor's degree in engineering with honors in Melbourne and a Ph.D. in Environmental Conflict.
Experience
I am currently an academic tutor at UQ Law School, teaching 4 to 5 classes of Contract Law per week. Last semester, in the law school's teaching evaluations, 85 out of 88 students scored my teaching 5 out of 5 overall. I mark exams and assignments at UQ, so I know what assessors are looking for. My tutoring style is output-focused. Lectures and textbooks organize principles conceptually. I organize principles practically - how you would apply them in an exam or on an assignment. I believe this output-focused method leads to understanding. You rote-learned your multiplication tables before understanding how multiplication works. You followed a recipe before you figured out how to cook without one. I teach practical ways to do well in law assessment - it is through this practice, you come to understand the legal principles being taught in your unit. I am also available for admissions tests. Former students of mine have been accepted into Columbia University and the London School of Economics. I can also help with job applications and general essay advice.
