Chris K.
Private tutor in Brisbane, Australia
Education
In 2008, I contributed a paper integrating spiritual perspectives and international relations at the Australia 2020 Summit, Parliament House Canberra. My Ph.D. research was completed in 2003 at The University of Queensland, where I studied Hindu and Tantric Studies.
Experience
Academically, I was a lecturer in applied Buddhist studies at Nan Tien Institute NSW and have taught Asian religions in general and Buddhism at The University of Queensland in Brisbane. Professionally, I have facilitated therapeutic groups and meditation retreats, as well as coached and mentored youths, professionals, managers, business owners, and academics in mindfulness and life transition skills since 1997. I am also internationally certified in neurolinguistics, neurosemantics, and meta-coaching. A committed meditation practitioner, I have trained in Buddhist philosophy and practice since 1985 within Theravada, Chan/Zen, and Indo-Tibetan schools, particularly the Nalanda-Gelugpa and Dzogchen traditions. I also trained in Hindu yoga for eight years. My expertise in the field of religious studies is thus both academically rigorous and experientially grounded.

Hobbies
A quiet, philosophically and theologically minded person with simple interests, I am especially intrigued by the comparative theological dialogue of Asian and Biblical faiths in general and Buddhism and Christianity in particular. In 2014, I began biblical and theological studies and engaged in pastoral internship at a local church.
