Education

I offer both ongoing and casual tutoring. I also mark work at a rate of 1800/hour. I charge $60 per hour. I am currently undertaking my PhD in Literary and Cultural Studies at UQ. I was a highly competitive applicant and received an RTP scholarship. I completed my Honours Student in Literary Studies in 2019 with an upper H1 and GPA of 4. I received the Monash University Jubilee Honours Scholarship which is offered to 50 Honours students at Monash. My perfect GPA across my last year of study in my BA helped me to obtain this scholarship. During my Bachelor of Arts, I held the Vice-Chancellor Scholarship for Excellence which is offered to 20 continuing students per year. I graduated my BA with a GPA of 3.8 and WAM of 82 (above a high distinction). I completed VCE in 2013, winning prizes in English and Global Studies.

Experience

I started tutoring in students in 2014. Since then I have taken a range of students, from year 7 to university students. While I have mainly tutored in-person, I also have experience tutoring online. I take great pride in my student's achievements, whether it's reaching their academic goals, finding new enjoyment in a text or increasing their confidence. My unique ability as a tutor is being able to teach students how to approach and answer a question; vital skills which are often missed in the classroom. It's all very well to learn quotes, but you also need to learn how to approach essay questions, exams, and SACs. I work very hard to ensure that each student is taught in a manner that works for them and persist until I find the right learning strategy (this make time a couple of sessions). I spent a year working with Monash University's student services, helping future students with their enquiries. I'm adept at explaining the VTAC application system, prerequisites, ATAR, SEAS, and pathways to Victorian and interstate students. I can also draw on my own experience as a transfer student from RMIT to explain the differences between universities and courses, and the process of transferring universities. In the past I've also provided mentoring to my tutoring students, helping them understand the transition between school and university. I've also worked with Engage Education, providing seminars for VCE students.
