Previous senior students have achieved excellent results in English and have been accepted to their first choice university degree. My teaching experience includes: - 7-12 (English, Literature, Drama, Theatre Studies, Film and Media Studies) - P-6 (All subjects - English, Maths, History, Geography, etc.) - University (lecturing and teaching acting/drama) Having worked as a teacher in primary and secondary schools for 10 years, along with time spent teaching at university, I have a strong understanding of the academic, social and emotional needs of prep-12 students, as well as young adults. While completing my tertiary studies I spent four years working as an inclusion aide for students with special needs and as a teacher aide with students in primary schools. This included one-on-one and small group tutoring in the areas of primary school English, History, Maths, Geography, Social Skills, Science, Drama, Media, Sports Coaching and more. I enjoy tutoring as it is an opportunity to positively impact upon the academic progress and overall wellbeing of students who may be having difficulty with concepts, concentration, application, etc. Tutoring offers me a chance to engage with a diverse range of learners and practice my skill set as a teacher in a one-on-one/small group environment.

I have a great deal of both energy and patience and believe strongly in holistic education, self-improvement, academic success, and the joys and possibilities of learning and thinking. I have a special interest and well-honed teaching skills in the areas of essay writing and creative writing, speech writing and public speaking, as well as the dramatic arts. In my spare time, I enjoy acting, writing, film, literature, hiking, surfing and other sports, cooking and travelling.
