Experience
My style of teaching is both interactive and practical. I follow the socratic teaching method, where we'll start by laying out the agenda and providing some teaching material before engaging in interactive debate so the student, can understand the subject in terms that best relate to their experience. I always begin by trying to understand the method of learning that a student responds best to, and pre-researching the material to ensure I am as well prepared as they are. I am currently a Senior Cloud Computing Engineer, with a PhD in Media and Communications, and with certification from Google, working with the world's largest WordPress platform. I've spoken at multiple conferences and WordCamps around Australia and Asia about marketing, design, the Internet, and online business. I also used to run 3 technology based startups also based in Asia and Australia with one successful exit. In another life I was an academic, with PhD in Media and Communications from Swinburne University in Melbourne and a concentration on Games Studies, MMORPGs, Humanities, and the Social & Political Sciences. I taught sessionally while I was at the university completing my doctorate.
