Education
I have an MA degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Queensland, St. Lucia, as well as a B.Ed. degree, an MA degree in English Literature and Communication, a BA degree in English Literature and Pre-Medicine, in addition to a CELTA.
Experience
I worked as a general English and ESL teacher to mostly Chinese and Japanese adults at IES in Brisbane for 1 year. I also have experience working as an ESL tutor for migrants and farmworkers at the Onigiri Language Institute at the Queensland University of Technology for 1 year. I have also previously worked as an English literature and language teacher at an international primary, middle, and high school for 1 year, as well as 3 years of experience working as an IELTS and ESL tutor and exam invigilator for a multicultural class of adult students. I have 1 year of experience tutoring Australian children on an individual basis at the Literature Factory in Brisbane, as well as previously working as the executive assistant to the Assistant Dean of a foreign university for 1 year and the assistant to the curator of an art museum abroad also for 1 year. I am currently volunteering with the Royal Queensland Art Association doing administrative and general reception duties while also providing one-on-one ESL and math tutoring to foreign students from Asia, through an accredited American language training company.
