Education
In 2013, I studied general English and IELTS preparation at Regents University. In 2015, I obtained a degree in marketing and international business from Sergio Arboleda University before completing the Young Executive Program there the same year. In 2018, I completed a business English Cambridge First Certificate. At the moment I am completing a Certificate IV in marketing and communications at Australian Pacific College.
Experience
I am Karen and I am a Spanish native speaker from Colombia. I have a degree in marketing and international business but teaching is my passion. My first experience overseas was in London, I decided to go to study English there and became C1. While I was taking English lessons I found a group of British students that were truly interested in learning Spanish so I started teaching a group of 4 children between the ages of 11 and 16. This was an amazing experience because having to help them understand every little thing I said really improved my English. When I returned to Colombia, some schools contacted me to offer me the job of English teacher. While teaching at a high school, I made some Russian friends who I later started tutoring over Skype. At the moment, I am teaching an Australian student and it has been a great experience thus far. Hobbies
I love dancing (is one of the things I enjoy doing the most) I've taken dance lessons in different genres. I like reading and going put to try new food from all over the world. Travelling is also one of my biggest passions, I am so open to understand and be part of different cultures.
