Private tutor in Brisbane, Australia

Education

I graduated from Brisbane State High School in 2016 with an OP1 and VHA5+ in all six of my classes, including two VHA10s. I am currently a Creative and Professional Writing major at QUT where I am on the Dean's List with a GPA of 6.75. I have also completed various other certificates and qualifications, such as CPR, First Aid, Workplace Health and Safety, Volunteering, and an IML French Language course.

Experience

I have tutored high school students (aged Year 7 - Year 12) for three years, and so have a considerable amount of experience with 1-on-1 personalized learning. I enjoy private tutoring because it allows the student to really engage with the content in their own way, which I believe makes learning more fun, interesting, and resonant. I'm patient, enthusiastic, and adjust well to different learning styles, from the more active and action-driven methods best suited to extroverted learners to the quieter, slower, and more compartmentalized paths of other students. I like to connect based on what the student is already interested in and relate their new topics to their current passions. I believe that high school and university are formulative, important experiences and want to help students make the most of them. I am also an experienced writer, and have won nine short story and novella competitions, and am currently revising the draft of my first novel. If you need help outlining a paper or proofreading a college admissions essay, I would be delighted to help!

Hobbies

I'm patient, enthusiastic, and adjust well to different learning styles, from the more active and action-driven methods best suited to extroverted learners, to the quieter, slower, and more compartmentalised paths of other students. I like to connect based on what the student is already interested in, and relate their new topics to their current passions and enthusiasms. I believe high school and university are serious, important experiences, but leave a lot of room for fun and personal growth.
